Are there any REALLY inexpensive, yet clean (no bugs, etc.) Pensiones in Florence under Euro 30.?

Within 2/3 miles of the city center and near good transportation.
This is for early September after the main summer season.

He owns an apartment below his that he rents to travellers for 30 Euro a night (or that was the price a year ago). You can walk anywhere, the place was clean, and the guy who runs the place is wonderful.
I think he's hooked up with a larger hostel too.

Unfortunately that's very difficult to find. Try looking at Frommer's Hanging Out guides for cheap places to stay. I used the Italy one heavily and always got what they told me. The places arent gorgeous but they're clean and cheap.

You could only find a bed in a hostel for that price. Try hostelworld.com
